Introduction

The company Ceske rybarstvi s.r.o. (Czech fishery) manages 341 fishponds with a total area of 1,652 ha. The fishponds are located in the former districts of Cheb, Karlovy Vary , Sokolov, Tachov, Plzen Rakovnik, Louny, Kladno, Beroun, Chomutov, and Prague–West.

Since November 1, 2003, the company has been incorporated in the group of firms of Rybarstvi Trebon a.s. Live fish are sold through the company FISH MARKET a.s., which is the only certified marketing organization selling live freshwater fish in the Czech Republic.

The company’s major business is the breeding, sales, and processing of freshwater fish. In addition, the company deals in frozen food and wild game. The total annual production is about 650 t of carp, 70 t of trout and char, 20 t of other freshwater fish. To a limited extent, the company runs an ornamental fish spawning and sales business.
The company offers fishing with a fishing rod at selected fishponds and also operates some trout and coarse fishing water.
